Please join in wherever you can – and if there’s nothing happening near you, make it happen even if it’s JUST YOU! Go out ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE with your message, hold your sign/banner/placard up, take a picture and send it to us!
Find iconic or recognisable locations and photo op your message with nuance and flair, say it with flowers in the park, say it with sadness at ‘home’ remembering Brad isn’t, make connections with local features, get the kids to do one of their magical pictures, write something angry, poignant, hopeful, moving, incisive, loving – or just simply to the point in any way you feel, then hold up your sign, take a photo/photos and send it/them in to us…..
Because there’s NOT MUCH TIME LEFT. This day (Feb 23) will begin the 100 day countdown to Brad’s trial date – now due 3rd June.
Feb 23 2013 is also, shamefully, ONE YEAR on from his arraignment
And it’s time to raise the profile so we can rally plenty of people for the DEMONSTRATIONS on SATURDAY 1ST JUNE just before the trial begins, when Brad will have been in prison for MORE THAN 3 YEARS.

US EMBASSY DEMO IN SUPPORT OF BRAD 2011
The Bradley Manning Support Network (BMSN) has called for an International Day of Action in support of Bradley Manning, the 24-year-old gay US soldier, charged with blowing the whistle on US war crimes by giving thousands of documents to Wikileaks, including the infamous “Collateral Murder” video.
Imprisoned in May 2010, Bradley was for months kept in solitary confinement plus additional torture. On 23rd February he will have been detained for 1,000 days without trial. The military prosecutor is seeking a life sentence for his having got the truth out to us.
No pride in the slaughter of others!
Bradley Manning is part of the tradition of openly gay men who refuse to kill, torture and rape as part of the armies of the world.

Bradley Manning was detained without trial for over two years and is now facing a lengthy legal defence case and potential lifetime imprisonment for his whistle blowing acts on war crimes committed by the American army in Iraq.

THE ONE HUNDRED DAY COUNTDOWN TO TRIAL – MAKE IT COUNT
From this point – SATURDAY 23RD FEB – we will be counting down the 100 DAYS days to the start of Brad’s actual TRIAL, currently set for MONDAY 3rd JUNE.
Let’s make these 100 days really count for justice and think of more and more creative ways of making our voice heard in support of Brad and in opposition to what they want to do to him for giving us the gen from the horse’s mouth.
TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE INVASION OF IRAQ
This month is the tenth anniversary of the largest demonstrations ever – in cities all round the world, unprecedented nos. of people flooded the streets to say NO TO WAR! In LONDON 1,000,000 marched to show the politicians the wishes of the people. Those wishes were not in doubt.
But the invasion of IRAQ, a manifestly ILLEGAL invasion if ever there was one, WENT AHEAD ANYWAY, and later, in 2007, BRAD went to war along with lots of other young Americans.
BRAD THE FAITHFUL ONE IS THE WHO IS CALLED UNFAITHFUL
And Brad was the ONLY one of them that blew the whistle on the illegal practises of an illegal war; the ONLY one whose conscience stopped him from continuing to maintain the conspiracy of silence (more here in Ben’s Oxford Union speech on all this) – so that he felt the need to reveal to us all the true nature of 21st century asymmetrical warfare, as he put it.
So Bradley is the legit one here – and let’s make sure people realise that – even though, as usual, he’s the one who’s being prosecuted; the whistleblower, not the criminals.
