Funds urgently needed to cover additional defence costs

Bradley Manning’s defence fund is in urgent need of additional donations. This is because the Court Martial is taking far longer than anticipated and the actual trial is not now expected to begin until late 2012 or early 2013 with all the extra expenses associated with a protracted legal process.

The delay is mainly due to the failure of the prosecution to hand over documents, some of which have been requested as far back as Oct 2010. The defence team is having to do additional work to counteract government obstruction, such as file motions to compel the prosecution to produce evidence which the prosecution should be producing as a matter of course.
