Background

The Ecuadorian Foreign Minister has said in a press conference that a decision regarding Julian Assange’s asylum application will be announced on Thursday 16 August 2012 at around 1pm UK time.

Following threats from the UK government to storm the embassy, WikiLeaks issued this statement and a spokesperson for the Ecuadorian government said this. There was a greatly increased police presence on the night of 15-16 August, with Territorial Support Group cops, a number of whom were posted inside the building’s front door as well as on the steps and in police vans outside.

Occupy London has been livestreaming from the embassy on a number of different sites. There are currently several streams on global revolution.

Updates will be posted here. See also indymedia timeline.
