Saturday 25th January 2-4pm our Monthly Protest Rally outside Belmarsh with Yellow Vests from France.

 

Our monthly protest in support of Julian Assange takes us back to Belmarsh Prison. We are being joined by a contingency of the Yellow Vests movement in France who will arrive outside Belmarsh at 8 am in the morning and stay till midnight. You can therefore join in solidarity any time during the day! Bring your poster, musical instrument, dress warmly and get ready to join our action.

In this public lecture, Leverhulme Visiting Professor Jake Lynch explains what is at stake in the struggle to keep Assange from being extradited to the United States, where he faces a 175-year prison sentence for exposing the hidden side of Washington’s wars of political and economic dominance. The meeting will conclude with a discussion of how activists are campaigning against his extradition.

“On the 22nd February, 2020, we are calling for a march for Assange, from Australia House, Aldwych, to Parliament Square.

Assange’s full extradition trial begins the following Monday (24th). The Trump administration is seeking to put Assange in jail for 175 years for publishing the Afghan and Iraq War Logs.

We will assemble from 11:30am, to leave Australia House at 12:30pm.

Roger Waters of Pink Floyd will be performing. MIA will be walking the march. Vivienne Westwood will speak. Show your support for Julian Assange: come march with us. ”
