****News from our friends in Germany****
Julian Assange has won the Stuttgart Peace Prize 2020. We would like to celebrate this with you on Dec 6th from 2 pm CET and have created a great program with well-founded speeches and inspiring musicians in a team with other nationwide vigils. On behalf of the AnStifter, Free Assange Committee Germany, freeAssange.eu, German Journalists Union, Reporters without Borders, Amnesty International Stuttgart, Chaos Computer Club Stuttgart, Society Culture of Peace, pax christi, EcoLeaks and the art action “Anything to say?” we invite you to participate in our event. This can be done on site at the Schloßplatz in Stuttgart or online. The event will be streamed LIVE and can be shared internationally with friends and relatives.
With every person who virtually participates in the rally, the circle of publicity and the pressure on decision makers is increased. Together with Dustin Hoffmann (Die Partei), Stella Moris (Julian’s fiancée), Peter Grohmann (die AnStifter), Heike Hänsel (Die Linke), Margit Stumpp (Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen) as well as other politicians and civil society actors, we are expanding the protective circle around Julian Assange.
Here we are not only sending a signal for Julian Assange, but above all for our freedom of the press, democracy and human rights, which are being trampled underfoot in this absurd judicial scandal as well as the threatened extradition and represent a dangerous precedent.
We are very pleased about your participation and support.
The program is available on http://www.freeAssange.eu/live, the streaming link will follow very soon. For more information in German please visit this page.
