On October 27th and 28th 2021, the Royal Courts of Justice in London will be the site of a historic event.
The Biden administration is appealing the UK court judgement that journalist and publisher Julian Assange should not be extradited to the USA.
It will be the culmination of 11 extraordinary years of illegal extra-judicial US and British efforts to extradite Assange to the US, where he faces a living death in a supermax prison.
But Journalism is not a Crime!
Assange has suffered enormously for exposing the truth about wars, government corruption and criminality. He defends press freedom with his life.
Predictably, his pursuer is, in essence, the establishment that he exposed. And though we knew much of it already, we recently found out from inside sources that the CIA – clearly unconstrained by legal or moral considerations – plotted to kidnap, poison or otherwise assassinate Assange while he was in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
This is only the latest example indicating how the deck has always been stacked against him, both in the US and Britain. See this fuller account from Jonathan Cook in 2019.
He needs our support.
If he is extradited, what journalist, anywhere in the world, will dare to seek out and expose these truths that peaceful coexistence depends on?
This is why Julian’s fight is also our fight.
Thousands demonstrating outside the Court, and thousands watching on-line or in the Court itself will make an impact. His very life, and our right to know the truth, are in our hands.

I have requested remote access. I will let you know how I go. Keep up the good work. Hold on Julian were coming for you.
Hi Tess. What is the result of your request? (Two journalists I know of tweeted in the last 24 hours that their requests have been met with silence so far).
je serai de tout coeur avec vous pour dire et redire
free Assange NOW !
I will be there! It is an utter disgrace the persecution, legal abuses and torture committed against Julian Assange. I will also share this message inviting everyone to go to the Royal Courts of Justice in solidarity with Julian.
#FreeAssangeNOW
See you there! Rose
Absolutely disgusting. That pig Pompeo should be the one behind bars.
