Correct the Record in the Julian #AssangeCase: The Private Eye’s factual errors in their Trial Errors

It is always delightful to see The Private Eye covering the Julian Assange case defending the WikiLeaks publisher against US Extradition, but they seem to have missed doing their homework and get things very wrong indeed!

Angie Curran was not the only member of JADC who wrote to The Private Eye to correct the record in the Assange case and she has delighted all of us to have her letter printed in full.

Please take the trouble to monitor the many articles that circulate about the case of Julian Assange and challenge them if you spot an error. You have the power to make a difference! Use that power! :-)

Hat-tip to Paul who brought to the attention of JADC the Private Eye post! United we will win this!

  1. Mel says:

The NYT article still reads, “nearly three years.”

  2. Mel says:

Brilliant work, Ms. Curran. One wishes that even the most progressive journalists, editors and outlets would do their homework, and properly. Do no harm, as they say. On a far less crucial note, the NYT’s Megan Specia wrote two days ago that Assange has been in Belmarsh “almost three years.” I emailed them. I’ll check back now.
